Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. Her name has been acknowledged for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The movie Piano won her several awards, among them an Oscar. She began her career acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. When she was in the fifth grade due to mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. However, she did not allow that to stop her. As a young woman she studied drama in college before moving into New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could achieve her goals. Hunter was trapped in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. She relocated into Los Angeles and tried to find films parts. The film, Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. In the years since, she has been in numerous films and television series and movies over a career spanning over three decades. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also her Women in Film Lucy Award.
